What is an orally disintegrating tablet?
Sehippy is a vortioxetine orally disintegrating tablet, also called an ODT. An ODT is designed to break apart in the mouth.
If swallowing tablets is difficult or your medicine routine feels challenging, tell your healthcare provider. The right treatment plan should take your needs into account.

Sehippy is a vortioxetine orally disintegrating tablet (ODT). Ask your healthcare provider or pharmacist for the current U.S. prescribing information and Medication Guide.
ODT stands for orally disintegrating tablet, a tablet format designed to break apart in the mouth. Ask your healthcare provider or pharmacist about the administration instructions for your prescribed medicine.
A tablet breaking apart in the mouth does not, by itself, mean it treats depression faster or causes fewer side effects. Ask your healthcare provider about the evidence and risks for a specific medicine.
Talk to your prescriber before changing treatment. Do not stop, switch, or change the dose of an antidepressant on your own.
For product-specific administration instructions, speak with your healthcare provider or pharmacist. Follow the final U.S. labeling and your pharmacist's directions. Do not alter or mix a medicine without checking first.

Antidepressants can have side effects. Some children, teenagers, and young adults under 25 may experience increased suicidal thoughts or behavior, especially early in treatment or after a dose change. People of all ages taking antidepressants should be monitored closely.
Tell your healthcare provider about new or worsening symptoms and all medicines and supplements you take. Talk with your prescriber before starting or stopping medication. If there is immediate danger, seek emergency help.
